I am normally skeptical of duct cleaning as it's value has been marked as "questionable" by both CDC and Health Canada. That said, I wanted it as I'd recently done a lot of drywall work & that dust is awful. So I did a lot of comparative research into what companies and Ottawa provided the service. Be aware that there can be huge differentials in price for the same service; the larger, more well-known companies such as JD Swallow may charge a lot more than the lesser-known ones. 1Clean Air was not the cheapest option, but for me represented a good value, and I found their client service rep to be very responsive to my questions, so I booked them. The team of two (Marc and Sébastien) arrived right on time. They were very friendly, willing to chat with my wife and mother-in-law as well, and professional. They were fast but not hasty. I was impressed that they put in plastic plugs in the holes they made in the duct work rather than simply taping over, and they gave me tips on what areas to leave exposed or accessible should they come back after more basement drywall is up. They also took photos with a pipe camera to show the before-and-after. IF you think you need duct cleaning - and do some research before falling for the industry spiel - I would have no hesitation in recommending 1Clean Air.
